Pellet stoves and fireplaces allow you to enjoy the comfort and warmth of a wood stove or fireplace. Pellet fires are more efficient, cleaner and safer than traditional wood fires.
Pellet fuel for home heating can be burned in a freestanding pellet stove, fireplace insert or a furnace. A pellet stove looks much like a wood stove, but is automated. Heating a home with pellet fuel requires only the ability to add pellets into a hopper, set the desired heat output and provide necessary appliance maintenance, such as cleaning out an ash pan. All other aspects of the heating process occur automatically. Pellet stoves and fireplace inserts come in a wide range of styles, sizes and finishes.
Wood pellets are a natural, renewable source of energy. They are made from wood byproducts, reclaimed from saw mills and wood-based manufacturing plants. This clean, economical fuel eliminates the splitting, hauling, stacking, and cleanup associated with traditional wood fires. Typically, pellets are available in easy-to-handle 40 pound bags, and require less space to store the same amount of usable energy than when in cord wood form. Most importantly, when you burn wood pellets in your stove or fireplace insert you are using one of the most economical home heating fuels available. Since your stove or insert maintains a precise fuel-to-air ratio, it burns cleaner with consistent heat output allowing easy temperature regulation. The result is minimal emissions and extended burn times with proper preventative maintenance.
